Support for residential settings
Positive Behaviour Support plans (PBS), training and supervision
Experience - I have worked in residential settings since 2012. The first placement I worked at was a respite centre in Bath as a Child Care Worker, this lead to a residential setting in Weymouth, and continued to working in the residential component of an SEN school in Midsomer Norton and for the National Autistic Society in outreach care. Following this I completed my education in 2019 and worked for The Priory Adult Care, and for Leonard Cheshire. I currently work with a company in Somerset who provide homes for young people in care.
Supervision- I can provide supervision to staff teams including de-briefs following incidents.
Training - I can train staff in:
Positive Behaviour Support
Trauma and Behaviour
Skills Building - I can support young people to increase their skills in the below areas:
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans: I can create PBS plans for young people following a consultation and assessment process with the residential placement. These plans provide strategies for different stages of regulation and give the team information about behavioural triggers and proactive (best practice) techniques. I often work with Educational Settings as part of this process.
